Connecting your digital repository with the public & Re-establishing of library as the center of community
We are pleased to announce that Geneza will sponsor and participate at the Digital Library 2014 conference in Jasná, Slovakia. This is an important forum dedicated to digital content preservation and accessibility.
For this merry December, we have made a small utility that hopefully will save some time for some people :)
Last Monday we have spent a very interesting GENETHON day at our R&D center breaking out of daily routine and spending whole day on a free and publicly available tool that we are proud to present today...Geneza Compression Analyzer. Analyzer itself is available through HTML5 interface with no plugins or downloads needed.
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of MediaINFO™ on the iPad. The iPad app brings core features of MediaINFO software to the most successful mobile device of our times. The MediaINFO end user application allows you to access MediaINFO powered collections from prestigious institutions or customize it to your own.
The Cantonal & University Library of Lausanne selects Geneza's MediaINFO to bring 250 years of the 24 Heures newspaper online. This launch is part of the Scriptorium project which aims to make available important materials (books, newspapers, magazines) that bring to life the heritage of the Canton of Vaud and the City of Lausanne, Switzerland.
The practical benefits of this project are already visible. Using MediaINFO the reader can flip through Slovak newspapers published in the 1940s or a theater magazine from the 1920es as if these were in their hands. The age and condition of these historical publications would severely limit the readership to whoever could get access to the sole physical copy.
Geneza MediaINFO sponsors and participates at the "Digital library", a conference dedicated to digital content preservation and accessibility. 16Th to 18th april 2012, at the Ski & Wellness residence, Družba, Jasná.
The National Library of Norway selects Geneza MediaINFO Viewer to provide in-browser access to rare manuscripts & newspapers. MediaINFO becomes part of the library’s tools in its quest to become one of Europe’s most modern and exciting national libraries.
The Norwegian National Library (NB) has gone live with MediaINFO and, in addition to the original plan of displaying Norwegian newspapers, the Library asked the MediaINFO team to also handle all handwritten materials in its collection (letters, postcards, manuscripts).
